According to a Vietnam News Agency (VNA) special correspondent, continuing activities within the framework of his State Visit to Singapore and his keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue 2026, on the afternoon of May 30, General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm received leaders of corporations and enterprises operating in the technology sector, as well as financial and banking institutions that have maintained investment and business operations in Vietnam for many years.

Receiving the leadership of CapitaLand Development, General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm highly appreciated CapitaLand’s investment and business activities in Vietnam over the past 32 years, particularly in the development of real estate projects.

Welcoming CapitaLand’s orientation to continue developing projects in Vietnam, especially those that are high-quality, green and smart, make efficient use of land resources, are capable of connecting with urban infrastructure and contribute to the upgrading of major urban areas in Vietnam, General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm affirmed that Vietnam always accompanies and creates favorable conditions for foreign investors, including CapitaLand, in studying, implementing and expanding their investment and business activities in Vietnam.

CapitaLand’s leadership expressed their impression of the recent directions of the General Secretary and State President regarding the continued improvement of institutions and the strong reform of Vietnam’s investment and business procedures through decentralization, delegation of authority, simplification of conditions, shortening of processing times, and increased digitalization and application of science and technology to create the most favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Singaporean investors. Representatives of CapitaLand stated that the group wishes to expand its investment in Vietnam in the coming period in the areas of urban development, green housing, industrial real estate, logistics and green data centers.

The General Secretary and State President proposed that the Group build upon its achievements, continue investing and doing business, and expand the scale of its investments in areas where Vietnam has demand, with the goal that all 34 provinces and centrally governed cities of Vietnam will have at least one VSIP industrial park, developed in the direction of green industrial parks, smart industrial parks, innovation centers, digital infrastructure, modern logistics and low-emission manufacturing ecosystems.

Expressing support for the proposal that each province and city in Vietnam should have at least one VSIP industrial park, Sembcorp’s leadership stated that, as one of the Singaporean enterprises with a long-standing presence in Vietnam and closely associated with symbols of Vietnam–Singapore economic cooperation, particularly the VSIP model, the Group wishes to continue investing and doing business in Vietnam and will actively support Vietnam in training high-quality human resources, transferring technology and strengthening cooperation with foreign investors in the same sectors to explore investment and business opportunities in Vietnam.

* Receiving the leadership of SATS Group, General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm acknowledged the long-standing cooperation between SATS and Vietnam Airlines in development efforts; and noted that Vietnam is prioritizing the development of modern aviation and logistics infrastructure to meet the requirements of growing trade, import-export activities, e-commerce, tourism and international connectivity.

Affirming that Vietnam welcomes SATS’ continued interest in expanding its operations in Vietnam, the General Secretary and State President proposed that SATS continue to coordinate closely with Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies and units to concretize cooperation proposals, especially in cargo terminal operations, airport logistics management, human resource training, transfer of operational experience, and connecting Vietnam’s airports with international transportation and logistics networks, ensuring compliance with Vietnam’s planning framework, laws and orientation for enhancing the country’s aviation logistics capacity.

SATS leadership stated that the Group wishes to expand its investment in Vietnam, focusing on the development and operation of air cargo terminals, airport logistics services, and the expansion of cooperation at key airports; actively share experience and technical expertise in the operation of air cargo terminals and airport logistics; and provide training for Vietnam’s aviation workforce.

* At the meeting, representatives of SEA Limited expressed their honor at being received by General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm. Representatives of SEA Limited also expressed admiration for the vision of Vietnam’s leadership regarding the development of science and technology, and their desire to continue expanding operations in Vietnam in the fields of banking and financial services, as well as developing a modern logistics system in Vietnam.

Recognizing the operations of Shopee, ShopeePay and SPX in Vietnam, the General Secretary and State President agreed with the proposal to expand cooperation in Vietnam, and encouraged SEA Limited to strengthen cooperation in promoting e-commerce, supporting the digital transformation of small businesses, expanding product distribution channels, and gradually participating more deeply in the regional digital supply chain.

Appreciating SEA Limited’s investment orientation in Vietnam, the General Secretary and State President proposed that the company explore and expand cooperation in the application of artificial intelligence (AI), data and digital technologies to support small enterprises, household businesses and Vietnamese sellers in enhancing operational capacity and expanding markets; promote cross-border e-commerce; and develop digital payments, digital financial services and inclusive financial solutions.

* Congratulating Vietnam on its economic growth achievements and social progress, leaders of Keppel Limited shared several initiatives currently being implemented to improve business efficiency, and affirmed their desire to contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic development process, particularly in the development of sustainable infrastructure and smart urban areas aimed at improving the quality of life of the Vietnamese people.

Welcoming Keppel Limited’s orientation to continue expanding its operations in Vietnam, the General Secretary and State President stated that Vietnam is prioritizing the attraction of investors with capabilities in technology, finance, urban infrastructure, operations management and sustainable development; and encourages cooperation models that help strengthen domestic capabilities, connect local enterprises and disseminate international management experience.

Vietnam welcomes Keppel Limited’s research into cooperation models in the fields of green infrastructure development, energy-saving solutions, climate-resilient infrastructure and low-emission urban models; the development of data centers, cloud computing, AI infrastructure and digital systems that ensure data security and sovereignty; cooperation in smart cities, integrated real estate, urban services and infrastructure serving international financial centers; research into green logistics solutions and sustainable aviation fuel; and the connection of innovation ecosystems.

* At the meeting, representatives of UOB stated that the bank began investing in Vietnam in 1993 in the fields of banking, financial services, hospitality and real estate, as well as in several Vietnamese technology enterprises. UOB committed to continuing its investment in Vietnam and supporting the development of Vietnam’s International Financial Center into a regional financial gateway.

Representatives of UOB expressed their desire to discuss efforts to promote foreign direct investment in Vietnam and support Vietnamese enterprises in enhancing global competitiveness, entering new markets and participating more deeply in ASEAN supply chains through cooperation and co-innovation.

General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm acknowledged and appreciated UOB’s proposals, while emphasizing that Vietnam is interested in developing an International Financial Center with a focus on regional connectivity, green finance, innovation and high value-added financial services. He proposed that UOB cooperate and invest in Vietnam in the fields of financial and banking services serving the International Financial Center as well as regional financial connectivity; and support Vietnamese enterprises in enhancing governance capacity, mobilizing capital, internationalizing operations and participating more deeply in the value chains of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
